Temple is offering a free program that provides low or moderate-income individuals and families with assistance preparing their federal and state taxes. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA, program is offered at Temple University Ambler each Saturday through April 10. "Last year, we had slightly over 200 clients," said Steven Balsam, an accounting professor at Temple's Fox School of Business. "All volunteers have to pass certification exams that are written by the IRS," Balsam said. "The vast majority are Temple undergrads from Ambler and Main Campus."
