Temple will soon have its own cable TV channel thanks in part to a $1.2 million donation by Kal Rudman, a former disc jockey and broadcast pioneer who made a fortune publishing a trade magazine. The university has been a training ground for many leaders in local and national media. Now, it will be joining the ranks of local universities broadcasting on cable. The new channel's general manager, Paul Gluck of Temple's School of Communications and Theater, says TUTV will enable the university to provide airtime to organizations, on-campus and off. "It will be an opportunity to have a showcase — a gallery, if you will — for students and faculty, to partner up with regional cultural operations," said Gluck.
