In Wissahickon Scenes, a new composition for the Philadelphia Classical Symphony, Maurice Wright, chair of Music Studies and coordinator of the composition division at Temple's Boyer College of Music and Dance, shows how Lenape-tribe melodies and the traditional violin concerto can mix and even coexist. "Wright has the sort of solidity that allows him to take on such a deceptively daunting project as Wissahickon Scenes," wrote Inquirer classical music critic David Patrick Stearns.
