When kids enter kindergarten they start distinguishing boy stuff from girl stuff, but there are ways to shake the stereotypes. Children will start favoring same sex friends or shying away from toys associated with the opposite sex. Marsha Weinraub, chair of Psychology at Temple, explains that once children categorize themselves as a girl or a boy, they're often trying to figure out what that means.
