Temple University was one of the big donors making contributions that will help the City of Philadelphia reach its goal of opening all its pools this summer. Temple donated $10,000 to the Splash and Summer Fund, a fundraising campaign launched last year to keep more pools open while the city faced a budget gap. "Keeping our swimming pools open during the summer is important to maintaining a strong sense of community in which friends and neighbors can connect," Mayor Nutter said.
