For more than a decade, Temple art history professor Betsy Bolman has been bringing paintings back to life in the Church of the Red Monastery, a 6th-century structure near Sahog, Egypt. "The bigger picture of my work on the Red Monastery church will hopefully not be drastically affected by the most recent Egyptian revolution, but my conservation campaign for this spring was canceled due to the unrest. …But given the extraordinary amount of antiquities in the country, the real story is how little was taken or vandalized, in contrast, for example, to Iraq," she said.
