Temple Nursing: reforming curricula to meet evolving health needs

"Is nursing education preparing graduate nurses to meet the challenges of healthcare reform?" asked a Nursing Spectrum opinion piece. Recently, the faculty at Temple's Department of Nursing engaged in an innovative curriculum redesign process, wrote editor Donna Novak. Temple's new curriculum prepares nurses to be part of community-based primary care teams. "We want to reach out to people around the state who are interested in developing curriculum that supports the development of primary healthcare skill sets for BSN graduates," said Michael Clark, assistant professor in Temple's College of Health Professions and Social Work.
