Take Back the Night Rally sheds light on domestic violence

Domestic and sexual assault and violence are sometimes called crimes of silence because victims are too ashamed or afraid to report them. In Philadelphia, a city-wide march and rally took place on Thursday as part of Take Back the Night, a national event aimed at taking a public stance against abuse. Organizer Amanda Geraci, a master of social work student at Temple, says these occasions are the first time some people ever speak about a traumatic event. "It's an incredibly emotional and empowering experience," she said.
