ABC News: Collecting 1,000 brains

Researchers in California are on a mission to collect 1,000 brains over 10 years from both healthy and ill participants to explore the relationship between brain structure and personality, memory, emotion and illness. The researchers will familiarize themselves with participants while they are alive and study their brains after death. Ausim Azizi, chairman of neurology at Temple's School of Medicine, said the project's brain-imaging techniques could take structure and function to a new level, but wouldn't have any immediate impact on treating disease.
