CNN: Kids need dentists, too

Parents should bring children to the dentist before they are 12 months of age and should offer help with brushing and flossing before they get their adult teeth. "Most children need help because they lack the manual dexterity to brush very well," said Mark Helpin, acting chair of pediatric dentistry in Temple's Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry. "What we recommend for children between 0 and 2 years of age is just the tiniest smidge of toothpaste. Brush with that twice a day."
