USA Today: Boomers pursue new goals in second half of life

Millions of Americans are entering the second act of their lives. The kids are grown or nearly so, and now is the time when some are venturing out to try new and different things — change jobs, pursue old dreams, volunteer or go back to school. Frank Farley, a professor in Temple's College of Education, says the midlife years are a perfect time to break out from what you are doing and try new things. "This is the time to rethink one's life because you are heading into the second half. Ask yourself: Do you need a mid-course correction or a whole new direction?"
