Pennsylvania will give $100,000 each to 11 universities and research institutes in the region. The money will be used to hire top researchers and to commercialize discoveries. Temple University was among the recipients. Temple will partner with Fox Chase Cancer Center, Lankenau Institute for Medical Research, Salus University and others on a technology-transfer effort. A fund will be created that will develop commercialization plans for research projects that have commercial potential but don't yet have licensable technology.
