A cover story on college admissions featured advice from several Temple experts. Senior Vice Provost for Enrollment Management William Black and Director of Undergraduate Admissions Karin West Mormando explained how stressed parents can help their children with their college choices. Although parents may think college admissions is arbitrary and subjective, "the process is a reasonable one," said Black. William Cutler, a professor of history and educational leadership at Temple, urged parents not to focus on getting their children one super-elite college above all else. "The world doesn't end if your child is rejected," he said. "If you believe in your child, you'll find a way to help that child build a happy life."
