A new species of carnivorous dinosaur unearthed in Utah has been named for its discoverers, Celina and Marina Suarez, twin sisters who were working with a Utah Geological Survey team in 2004 as Temple graduate students in the College of Science and Technology. The dinosaur's name, Geminiraptor suarezarum, means "twin predatory thief of the Suarezes." Celina Suarez said she and her sister were surprised when team leader Jim Kirkland, Utah's state paleontologist, suggested naming the creature after them. "I told [Kirkland] I thought he was joking at first," said Celina Suarez. "But he said he was serious. It's pretty cool."
