Five years after the deadly collapse of a bridge in Minneapolis, experts say nearly 8,000 of America's bridges are still in dire need of repair. Temple civil engineer William Miller says standards for bridge construction were not always as advanced as they are today. “Certainly the inventory of bridges out there needs to be inspected much more than it actually is, but of course, these (inspections) are constrained by the states’ budgets,” said Miller.
