The explosion of social media could dramatically increase the accuracy of political polls, which are generally based on small samples. David Schuff, associate professor of management information systems at Temple's Fox School of Business, and colleagues tracked social and traditional media during the last election to better analyze races. "Today we can use customized methods to track social media and the vast media databases of LexisNexis to track what voters actually do – not just what they say," he said.
