Two bipartisan bills are pending in the Ohio Senate to expand the use of naloxone, an opiate overdose reversal drug. “People who have an opioid overdose, whether its heroin or OxyContin, it’s a slow way to die,” said Scott Burris, a law professor at Temple University and co-director of the university’s Center for Health Law, Policy and Practice. “There’s no reason why someone can’t be saved. All the more so because there is this wonderful little drug called naloxone.”
