Reducing student debt is focus of PCN-TV panel featuring Temple's President Theobald
President Neil D. Theobald will be one of the panelists for a roundtable discussion on student debt to be broadcast tonight at 7 on PCN-TV. The one-hour program is titled "Financing Higher Education & Student Loan Debt."
On campus, PCN is cable channel 186. The service is also available on most cable systems in the region.
Joining President Theobald will be State Rep. Brendan Boyle, PHEAA Regional Manager Don Shade and Lebanon Valley College senior Kirstin Lutz.
Helping students manage their debt has been an early hallmark of President Theobald's administration. He has encouraged students to borrow only as much money as they need, to educate themselves on the different types of debt and to limit the work they do outside of class so they can keep on track to a four-year graduation.
"The longer students are in school, the more debt they accumulate," notes Theobald. "Students who graduate in four years not only have less debt, but they also don't delay their entry to the higher paying, college educated portion of the work force."
