Jonathan A. Scott, professor of finance in the Fox School of Business, received this year’s Hats Off to You Award from Philadelphia Futures. He was honored for his work to help students develop their talent for entrepreneurship.  

Scott oversees a Philadelphia Futures summer enrichment program—now in its sixth year—in the Fox School of Business. The program, open to rising juniors from city high schools, guides student through the process of developing their own businesses from concept to inception.

Scott also serves as academic director of the Fox Honors program and managing director of the Fox School’s William C. Dunkelberg Owl Fund. His research focuses on small-business access to credit markets, with publications in the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Money Credit and Banking, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Research, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of Business Venturing and Financial Review.
