The PA State Nurses Association (PSNA) presented the 2011 Volunteer of the Year Award to Frances Ward, PhD, RN, CRNP, Temple University. As a Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (PHC4) representative, Dr. Ward assists in collecting, analyzing and disseminating health care cost and quality-related information to the public. Dr. Ward has played an integral role in facilitating the strategic plan for PSNA’s PA Nursing Congress on Practice, Education and Policy. In addition, Dr. Ward supervises Temple University’s Nursing Department of College Health Professionals participation in the PA Coalition for the Advancement of Nursing Education (PCANE). In this role, she collaborates with other nurse leaders and administrators in driving key nursing initiatives in the Commonwealth.
