Albert Wertheimer, a professor of pharmacy practice in Temple’s School of Pharmacy, was presented with the first “Pharmacy Leader of the Year” award at the Dubai International Pharmaceuticals and Technologies Conference and Exhibition 2013 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Wertheimer also delivered an invited major address on off-label prescribing of drugs.

More than 5,000 pharmacists practicing in academia, industry, hospital and community pharmacy from around the world, as well as governmental agencies in the Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe attended the conference.

Wertheimer, an expert in pharmaceutical economics is no stranger to international meetings.  He has been a lecturer or consultant in more than 70 countries.
