Rafael Porrata-Doria, professor of law in the Beasley School of Law, was awarded the Legion of Merit Medal by the Department of Defense upon his retirement from the United States Army Reserve. Porrata-Doria served as an officer in the Judge Advocate General Corps and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
