Unruh resigns as senior VP for institutional advancement

David Unruh, senior vice president for institutional advancement at Temple, has resigned. Tilghman Moyer, associate vice president for institutional advancement, will become interim vice president effective immediately.

Unruh is leaving as the university shifts leadership from Acting President Richard M. Englert to President Neil Theobald. Theobald takes office Jan. 1.

"It is not uncommon for a new president to put his own advancement team in place," said Englert. "David has been a terrific colleague and a great advocate for Temple and we wish him well as he pursues new opportunities."

During his three years at Temple, Institutional Advancement launched a $100 million student scholarship fundraising effort, unveiled the "Temple Made" marketing campaign, enhanced Homecoming celebrations and significantly expanded its Alumni Weekend programming.

A search for a new vice president will be held in early 2013.
