Temple University statement on off-campus robbery

At approximately 8:05 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, Temple University and Philadelphia police responded to a reported robbery at a private residence in the 1900 block of North 18th Street.

Two male offenders displayed guns and tied the wrists of a number of people, identified as Temple students. The offenders demanded the contents of a locked box, which another person in the residence, also identified as a student, was forced to open. That person was struck in the head. He sustained a head injury and was treated and released.

The offenders took an unknown amount of cash and electronics before fleeing.

Preliminary results of the police investigation indicate that this likely was not a random act. The investigation is ongoing.

The two suspects are described as African-American males. One is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall wearing a dark Bucks County Community College sweatshirt.  The individuals were last observed fleeing the scene in a white car.

Anyone with information is urged to call 911.
