Advisory for traffic and parking changes Friday, July 29
Posted Jul 28, 2016
The campaign for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine has leased Temple University’s McGonigle Hall as the inclement weather site for a post-convention rally.
We have been advised by the campaign that doors will open at 10 a.m. with the event scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, July 29. The campaign originally scheduled the event for Independence Mall.
Please be advised that there will be an increased security presence in the streets surrounding Pearson-McGonigle. Traffic delays are expected and could impact the morning commute.
Parking will be prohibited in the 1800 and 1900 blocks of North 15th Street, the 1800 block of North Broad Street and the 1400 block of West Montgomery Avenue. Additional restrictions may occur without notice.
Hourly parking is available at the Cecil B. Moore lot (1223 Cecil B. Moore Ave.) and the Tuttleman lot (1205 W. Montgomery Ave.). The Liacouras Garage (1710 N. 15th St.) will also be open.
Employees in Pearson and McGonigle halls will be permitted into the building once they are screened by security.
