Sad news to share

To the Temple community:

We have sad news to share.

One of our students—Ryan Tran, 21—passed away off campus in the early hours of Saturday morning. He was a native of Reading, Pennsylvania, and a second-year student in the College of Public Health.

On behalf of the CPH and Temple communities, we extend our deepest condolences to Ryan’s family, friends, and classmates. Please keep those close to Ryan in your thoughts.

A tragedy like this can affect many members of our community, and in many ways. This is especially true at this particularly stressful time in an academic term, as students and faculty prepare for final exams. It can also remind us that Temple is a deeply caring community and that we need to remain committed to watching out for each other.

Should you experience difficulty during this time, it is strongly encouraged that you seek the help and support you need. Tuttleman Counseling Services, located at 1700 N. Broad Street, is available to help. Tuttleman offers a wide range of resources and services, both for individuals and groups. The center is open Monday through Saturday. Walk-in hours are available. More information, including hours of operation, is available by calling 215-204-7276 or by visiting the Tuttleman Counseling Services website

Sincerely,
