To the Temple community:

Commencement is one of the most important times in the university calendar, and we continue to work through plans to give students the best experience possible during the pandemic. We are pleased to follow up on our March 5 announcement with more details and the schedule for the 2021 Commencement exercises. This schedule reflects our goal to provide a well-rounded opportunity for our students to celebrate their college experiences with a virtual Commencement ceremony, followed by in-person school and college graduation ceremonies. Remember that our events must remain within the guidelines of the Philadelphia Department of Public Health.

The virtual university Commencement ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, and will premiere on commencement.temple.edu. The university leadership, Class of 2021 student speaker and a young alumni speaker will be featured in the celebration, as well as the conferral of degrees to our 2021 graduates.

The in-person school and college graduation ceremonies will take place on Main Campus May 6 and 7 and May 20 and 21 at various times. All ceremonies will be livestreamed and accessible for families and friends to view. At this time, our school and college ceremonies are for graduates only due to city COVID-19 restrictions and conditions. If circumstances change and permit limited guests, we will let you know as soon as possible. The official schedule and locations for the graduation ceremonies can be found on the Commencement website.

Your deans will soon share with you the exciting details related to their specific graduation ceremonies. As we move closer to the Commencement celebrations, information will continue to be shared both from the university and the schools and colleges. Students are encouraged to check the Commencement website and stay up to date on emails from their school or college for additional details. 

Once again, we want to congratulate you on your perseverance, especially during the past year. That is all the more reason to celebrate your success! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to welcome you into the Temple University alumni community.
