Philadelphia vaccine mandate

To the Temple community:

The dynamic environment brought about by the coronavirus pandemic requires us to be agile. Now we have another opportunity to demonstrate that agility.

This morning, Philadelphia’s Board of Health announced new COVID-19 vaccination requirements for college campuses and healthcare organizations. Read more about the new regulation, and how students are expected to comply.

Under this emergency regulation

  • Temple University faculty, staff, students and contractors are required to be vaccinated by Friday, Oct. 15.
  • Temple Health employees are also required to receive the vaccine by this date.
  • Documented medical and religious exemptions are permitted.

The new regulation aligns with Temple’s position on COVID-19 vaccines. Since vaccines became available, we have urged every member of the Temple community who is able to do so to get vaccinated.

You can schedule an appointment to get your vaccine on campus or upload your vaccine information through Temple’s Patient Health Portal

Public health experts have made it clear that widespread vaccination is our best defense in the fight to mitigate the virus, and how we will restore the joy and value of gathering with families, friends, and colleagues. It is also the responsible action to protect the health and welfare of our communities.

Please do your part to help us get there and #VaxUpTU

Sincerely,

Jason Wingard
