Save the date: Inauguration and Homecoming and Family Weekend 2022
To the Temple community:
We hope you are enjoying your summer and spending time with family, friends and loved ones. We are busy planning what will be an exciting and engaging fall for all of us.
On July 1, we celebrate President Wingard’s one-year anniversary at Temple. This year, together with university leadership, he has focused on what he envisions for Temple and its place as an institution of innovative teaching, research, thought leadership and healthcare. We are pleased to share plans to celebrate what makes the university such a vibrant, special community as well as share President Wingard’s strategic direction and vision for Temple’s future.
We invite you to celebrate President Wingard’s inauguration as your 12th president as well as Homecoming and Family Weekend 2022 Sept. 12 to Sept. 17, a weeklong universitywide and citywide event for students, faculty and staff, alumni, parents, and families. This year, the university has moved Homecoming and Family Weekend to Sept. 16 and 17 so everyone can participate.
The official Investiture Ceremony will be Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, at the Liacouras Center. Inauguration events will address the themes of opportunity, the future of learning and work, discovery, and community. The celebration will also include a distinguished speaker series, symposium, gala and much more.
Homecoming and Family Weekend events kick off Monday, Sept. 12. Join us to cheer on the Owls at the Homecoming Pep Rally on Friday, Sept. 16, and at Tailgate Village and the Homecoming game on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Lincoln Financial Field.
The full schedule and more information about inaugural and Homecoming and Family Weekend events will be communicated in the coming weeks. We look forward to joining President Wingard and all of you in sharing our sense of pride as members of the Temple community.
Sincerely,
Mitchell L. Morgan
Chair, Board of Trustee
