Temple names new vice president for information technology

Dear colleagues,

With enthusiasm, I write to share that Larry Brandolph has been appointed our new vice president for information technology, following a national search. Subject to final approval by the Board of Trustees, Larry will begin his new role on April 1, 2023. Larry has held the role in an interim capacity since September 2021.

With decades in leadership positions in corporate and educational environments, Larry brings the future-focused expertise Temple University needs to enhance our infrastructure; secure and protect our digital information resources; serve our community of students, staff and faculty; and lead a division of more than 200 employees. Larry has been a strong partner and thought leader as we navigated through enterprisewide initiatives, financial management and technology needs associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Larry joined Temple in 2011 as the associate vice president and chief information security officer, and prior to this position was vice president and head of infrastructure services at Cigna Inc. You can learn more about Larry in this news story regarding his appointment.

Larry is admired and respected for his collegiality and professionalism across Temple’s campuses. I have appreciated his collaborative and approachable leadership style, as well as his focus on diversity, equity and inclusion especially as it relates to technology access. We are fortunate to have benefited from Larry’s commitment to our community for the last 12 years, and I am confident that he is the right person to lead Temple’s digital ambitions into the future.

I want to thank the search committee for their energy and expertise during this process. Please join me in congratulating Larry on his new role.

Sincerely,

Gregory N. Mandel
