New update regarding chemical spill in Bucks County

To the Temple community,

The City of Philadelphia issued an update to their earlier recommendation regarding the safety of drinking water in Philadelphia. Based on updated hydraulic modeling and sampling data, the Philadelphia Water Department is confident that the drinking water in Philadelphia will remain safe until 11:59 p.m. Monday, March 27, at which point they will have issued another update.

To reiterate, the Philadelphia Water Department reports that the drinking water is safe. Temple University is coordinating a plan to distribute bottled water if that is needed.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as available. Additional information will be shared at https://water.phila.gov/. For updates from the City of Philadelphia, text ReadyPhila to 888-777 and follow @PhillyH20 and  @PhilaOEM on Twitter.

Temple’s Office of Emergency Management will continue to follow the guidance of the city and send updates as needed. Follow @TempleUOEM and @TempleUniv for university updates.

Sincerely,

Nicola Mammes
Director of Emergency Management
