Update from Department of Public Safety

To the Temple Community,

Temple University's Department of Public Safety (DPS) is aware and has been monitoring law enforcement intelligence and social media regarding the Friday 'Day of Jihad.' All week, we have been in communication and contact with national, regional and local law enforcement and intelligence centers. We are in constant contact with the Philadelphia Police Department, who is monitoring the situation as well.

At this time, we have no credible threats related to the social media posts regarding a worldwide call to action by Hamas on our Temple community. We have been in contact with several places of worship, and community and student groups that are directly affected. We have briefed all our supervisors who have made their police officers, security officers, communication dispatchers and Allied security aware to increase our visible presence, camera monitoring and proactive patrols around campus. We will continue to monitor for any additional information and are on alert to any potential issues or incidents.

If you see something, say something. We encourage all members of the Temple community to communicate directly with DPS by calling 215-204-1234 or by using the TUSafe app

Sincerely,

Jennifer Griffin
Vice President for Public Safety
