Update regarding weekend incident
To the Temple community,
Temple University’s Department of Public Safety (TUDPS) identified all three individuals involved in the impersonation of law enforcement officers that occurred on February 1, 2025. The individuals include two students who are now under interim suspension and one former student who is no longer affiliated with the university. One of those individuals has been arrested and charged, and the investigation involving the other two individuals is ongoing.
As stated in a previous email to the Temple community on Sunday, impersonating law enforcement officers is a crime. This behavior and harassment of Temple community members will not be tolerated.
We strive to provide a welcoming environment for all our students, faculty and staff, and we will continue to support the Temple community. Additionally, neither Temple’s Department of Public Safety nor the Philadelphia Police Department have any reports of federal ICE agents being on campus.
We want to thank all of those who provided identifying information that assisted with the case. We also acknowledge the tireless efforts of our Investigations Unit and the Philadelphia Police Department to bring this case to a successful resolution.
Sincerely,
Jennifer D. Griffin
