Event Date:
February 23, 2012
Start Date:  2/23/2012  Start Time:  12:00 PM
End Date:  2/23/2012

Main Campus - Tyler School of Art
Room: B04

Fern Gookin and Billy Dufala from the Recycled Artist in Residency (RAIR) will be discussing their work with RAIR in promoting connections between sustainability and art.
RAIR provides artists with salvaged materials and comfortable workspace while increasing awareness about the waste stream. This project came out of requests from Philadelphia-based artists wanting access to recycled materials at Revolution Recovery, LLC – a construction and demolition recycling facility in Philadelphia. They’ve been informally donating materials to artists for years and have dreamed of starting a structured program.
This event is part of the University's efforts to promote RecycleMania, a national recycling competition between colleges and universities. RecycleMania runs from February 5th to March 31st.
