Hart announced as University of Arizona presidential candidate

The Arizona Board of Regents today announced that Temple President Ann Weaver Hart is the sole candidate for the University of Arizona presidency.

President Hart announced in the fall of 2011 that she planned to step down at the end of June 2012 after six years as president. A national search for her successor is underway.

"President Hart has seen Temple through a period of great accomplishment and progress. Temple's reputation as one of the nation's great urban research universities continues to rise," said Temple Board of Trustees Chairman Patrick J. O'Connor. "We wish President Hart well at the University of Arizona."

The Arizona Board of Regents has announced that President Hart will visit the University of Arizona campus on Feb. 13, before the board makes its final decision on the presidential candidacy.

Information about Temple's search for its next president is available at the Board of Trustees website.

The University of Arizona has posted additional information about its search at the Board of Regents website.
