Mayor Michael Nutter says it will take weeks to analyze the full economic impact of the governor's proposed budget, but he's already concerned about cuts to education and university medical institutions which employ 30 percent of the city's workforce. Universities like Temple and Penn State stand to lose 50 percent of their state funding. "I'm asking each and every one of you to take action and play a vital role in communicating with our elected officials about the importance of Commonwealth support for Temple University and higher education," said Temple President Ann Weaver Hart in a video message released following the governor's address.
