The spirit of giving inspired a Temple service project at Dunbar Elementary School in North Philadelphia on Friday. Temple's College of Education joined forces with the Office of Sustainability and the Black Alumni Alliance to give Dunbar a makeover. Temple volunteers wanted to do the day of service a few days before the Martin Luther King Day holiday so they could teach the students what it means to give back. "We are bringing it to them so that they can see it in their own building, with their colleagues, with their classmates, and can really take ownership of it," said College of Education Assistant Dean Valerie Gay.
