Robert McNamara, head of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Temple's School of Medicine, said one of his 19-year-old patients (not a Temple student) nearly died after drinking the beverage. "Alcohol is a depressant and caffeine is a stimulant; if you get an imbalance in those, you run into a lot of problems."
