When she isn’t teaching at Temple’s Tyler School of Art, she’s getting ready to exhibit. “I was working with people who were concerned with fracking, and I had never heard about it,” said Shanker. “I paid more attention to it, but it was hard to get information to trust. I just wanted to learn more.”
