Athletics ticket-sales partnership helps Temple save money

Temple Athletics saved almost $300,000 by hiring a private company to handle ticket sales. "It comes down to expertise," said Eric Roedl, senior associate athletic director. "Can somebody do this better than we can do it ourselves? We are good at recruiting students, hiring coaches and putting on athletic events. Let the pros do what they do best." Winning football seasons also helped. Temple increased football season ticket sales 35 percent, group sales by 50 percent and total revenue per game by 42 percent, Roedl said.
