Temple football's Al Golden was named Best College Coach in Philadelphia Magazine's annual Best of Philly issue. Golden, who's currently going into his fifth season at Temple, is "a stand-up guy who runs a stand-up program," said the magazine. In the same issue, Temple Theater’s Robert Smythe was named Best Professor. Smythe, who founded the Mum Puppettheatre and teaches puppetry at Temple, has won a Guggenheim fellowship, a Pew fellowship and six solo-performer fellowships from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
