E=mc2 is the catchy shorthand name for Educating Middle-Grade Teachers for Challenging Contexts, a Temple program to recruit and train more science, technology, engineering and math teachers in urban middle schools. Temple has partnered with the Harrisburg School District and two other districts in the state. College of Education faculty member Diane Jass Ketelhut, the program's co-principle investigator, says "the Department of Labor and Industry in Pennsylvania has identified middle school teachers in those three areas as being a high need area for jobs and if we go back even a couple more years we find superintendents are identifying this as a big need."
