Changing Medicaid could prevent dental emergencies

Emergency room visits for dental care have risen over 15 percent nationally, but raising Medicaid reimbursement for preventive care could help reduce that figure. Temple Kornberg School of Dentistry Dean Amid Ismail said the government pays poorly for preventive care. “The community education is not paid for, so we need a system to pay for outcomes of care,” he said.
