Exercise your way to a better memory
A study released in January found that aerobic exercise can expand the hippocampus — the area of the brain specifically responsible for cognition and memory formation. Ausim Azizi, chair of neurology at Temple's School of Medicine, explained that healthy body and healthy mind are interrelated functions in the body. "We can't separate the mental activity from the physical activity. Physical activity affects the brain by facilitating interaction of the individual with its environment."
