Flat feet can cause problems later in life

Parents and pediatricians have historically ignored signs and symptoms of flat feet, but new evidence suggests this oversight could be responsible for foot problems that crop up in adulthood. Philip J. Bresnahan, assistant professor at Temple's School of Podiatric Medicine, says that a 15-minute surgery in childhood could help correct it: "Kids can resume walking after two weeks and are often back to running in four to six weeks."
