Former Owl has become WNBA star

In her sixth season as a professional, former Temple women's basketball star Candice Dupree has emerged as one of the WNBA's elite. The Owls' second all-time leading scorer is averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds a game — a "double-double" — for the Phoenix Mercury. Dupree remembers her time at Temple fondly. "That team and family atmosphere is probably the biggest thing," she says of her college days. "When you are a pro you practice and play together but you kind of go your separate ways when you're not at the gym. In college you're with your teammates all the time — you have fun together."
