Handling of crisis at nuclear power plant sparks criticism

As nuclear contamination continues to spread, Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO), the owner of the stricken nuclear power plant, faces growing criticism, even from within. Analysts like Jeff Kingston of Temple University, Japan Campus, say what is cause for concern is the ongoing closeness of the relationship between government and private industry in Japan. "The government relies on TEPCO for information and advice, but TEPCO obviously is a vested interest."
