Fingers are crossed everywhere that the new cap on the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico will work and that BP will be able to capture all of the spilling oil. But, even if it does work, there will still be millions of gallons of oil to clean up. Michel Boufadel, professor of civil and environmental engineering at Temple and an oil spill expert, said the clean up is monumental but it will be easy in comparison to knowing the impact of the spill on the environment. "Many organisms could be functioning and recovering and then, suddenly, they could perish."
