MSNBC brought the set of "Hardball" to Temple's Main Campus for a live national broadcast. Hundreds of enthusiastic Temple students — including political science students and members of student organizations such as the Young Republicans, Temple College Democrats, Diamond Marching Band, Spirit Squad and Diamond Gems Dance Teams — joined Matthews on Polett Walk for a discussion of November's elections. Among Matthews' prominent guests at Temple, which Matthews called "one of the great universities of the Northeast," were Senate candidate Joe Sestak, Gov. Rendell, Rep. Robert Brady, Jim Matthews and Michael Smerconish. To conclude the broadcast, Matthews interviewed nine Temple students representing a wide range of political viewpoints.
