Following the lead of their three starting guards — Juan Fernandez, Ramone Moore and Khalif Wyatt — No. 23 Temple men's basketball "has established itself as the class of the Atlantic 10 conference," wrote Mark Viera of the Times. The Owls "could be dangerous in the N.C.A.A. tournament," Viera wrote, because of their "savvy" guard trio. "All of them have specific skills, but also they have the I.Q. to handle what we need to get done," Coach Fran Dunphy said. "There is a selfishness they need sometimes and an unselfishness they need at other times. They’ve been able to marry the two."
